KHQ-P500 Quartz Lamp Point-Focus Heater

Product Overview
The KHQ-P500 is a point-source heater that uses a quartz halogen lamp as the radiation heat source and employs a metal reflector to focus energy for localized high heat flux loading. The device concentrates radiant energy from the lamp onto specific areas of the sample via a reflective cavity, enabling rapid heating without physical contact. It integrates seamlessly with thermocouples, infrared sensors, temperature controllers, and test machine platforms to form a controllable thermal loading system. Compared to full-chamber heating, this focused approach delivers faster, targeted thermal input to small regions, minimizes unintended heating of surrounding areas, and easily integrates with tensile, fatigue, thermal shock, and structural thermal response testing setups. Featuring a compact design and water-cooling system, the KHQ-P500 is ideal for applications requiring high heat flux density and rapid thermal response.
Product Positioning
Millimeter-scale localized high heat flux loading
Uses a quartz halogen lamp as the radiant heat source. A metal reflector focuses energy onto specific areas of the sample for rapid, non-contact heating while minimizing thermal exposure to surrounding regions.
Water-cooled compact controllable thermal load unit
The water-cooled structure improves thermal stability during continuous operation. It can be integrated with thermocouples, infrared sensors, temperature controllers, and test platforms to form a controllable thermal loading system.
Product Type
How it works
Upon power-up, the quartz halogen lamp emits a broad-spectrum radiation dominated by infrared. The reflector cavity collects this energy and focuses it forward to the focal zone. When samples are positioned near the designed focal point, they receive high local radiative heat flux. By adjusting input power, sample position, and defocus distance, the actual heating intensity and effective heat spot size can be controlled.
The temperature closed-loop solution uses a thermocouple or infrared sensor to sample the specimen temperature, with the controller adjusting the light source power accordingly. Compared to heating the entire furnace chamber, point focusing is better suited for rapid, targeted thermal input to small areas and integrates easily with testing setups for tensile, fatigue, thermal shock, and structural thermal response experiments.
Core Advantages
Water-cooled point-focus heater built with a 500 W quartz halogen lamp and metal-reflector focusing system, featuring millimeter-scale focal zone, rapid thermal response, non-contact heating, and seamless integration with temperature measurement control and test platforms.
Localized focused heating
Non-contact concentration of radiant energy into millimeter-scale zones, ideal for small specimens or localized thermal loading.
Fast thermal response
Quartz halogen lamps have low thermal inertia, allowing rapid adjustment of heat input after power changes.
Contactless
The heat source makes no mechanical contact with the sample, facilitating integration with mechanical fixtures and measurement systems.
water-cooled structure
Continuously dissipates heat from the reflective cavity and housing to improve structural thermal stability during continuous operation.
Adjustable Power
Adjust lamp power via the single-phase 220 V voltage/power control unit.
Easy to integrate
Supports configurable thermocouples, infrared temperature measurement, PID control, and integration with test rigs.

Usage and Safety Instructions
- ⚠Strong visible and infrared radiation is emitted during operation. Do not look directly at the light source or focus area. Use appropriate eye and radiation protection equipment.
- ⚠The sample, heating head tip, and surrounding structures may be hot. Install heat guards and allow adequate cooldown time after power-off.
- ⚠Keep the air-cooled channel clear. Do not operate continuously if cooling is abnormal, the reflector surface is contaminated, or electrical connections are loose.
- ⚠Infrared temperature readings are affected by emissivity, angle, and spot size coverage. For highly reflective metals, combine with thermocouples or use a calibrated measurement solution.
- ⚠For adhesives, coatings, and materials that may emit volatiles, evaluate ventilation, smoke extraction, and fire safety conditions.
