KHL-S1504 Laser Surface Heating System

Product Overview
The KHL-S1504 laser surface heating system is designed for high-temperature material testing, rapid thermal processing, thermo-mechanical coupling, additive manufacturing preheating, and research-grade thermal loading. Powered by 4 1500 W continuous-wave laser(s), the system delivers up to 6 kW of total output power. After collimation, beam expansion, and shaping, the laser beams create square or rectangular heating zones on the sample surface. Through spot stitching, overlap compensation, and independent power control, it generates a large-area, precisely controllable thermal field. Unlike traditional furnace heating that warms the chamber, air, and fixtures first, this system targets the sample directly, offering low thermal inertia, fast response, strong localized heat input, and rapid power adjustment. The system integrates with infrared pyrometers, thermal cameras, motorized lift stages, chillers, and host computer controls to enable synchronized regulation of temperature, laser power, duration, and position.
Product Positioning
Large-area controllable laser thermal field
4-channel 1500W laser beams, reshaped and stitched to create a planar heating zone ranging from 100×100 mm to 300×300 mm.
Three-layer uniformity control
Optical homogenization, geometric stitching, and closed-loop compensation to enhance adjustability and repeatability of large-area planar thermal loading.
Product Type
How it works
4 laser sources each emit continuous near-infrared laser beams, which are delivered via transmission fibers to corresponding beam shaping and projection modules. After collimation and beam shaping, the beams are converted into square, rectangular, or near-flat-top energy distributions. The resulting road surface spots are arranged at specified positions, then stitched together or slightly overlapped on the sample surface. Power compensation across different laser channels ensures uniform thermal input in the target area. An infrared thermometer or thermal camera continuously monitors the sample temperature, while the control system dynamically adjusts the output of the four laser channels to achieve closed-loop temperature control.
6 kW total power yields different theoretical average power densities depending on the area: approximately 60 W/cm² for 100×100 mm, 15 W/cm² for 200×200 mm, and 6.7 W/cm² for 300×300 mm. When selecting a model, match the effective area, target temperature, and heating rate against the material's absorptivity and thermal dissipation conditions.
Important Notice:The 300×300 mm effective area, 1600℃ maximum temperature, and 100℃/s heating rate cannot be achieved simultaneously under the same operating conditions. The 1600℃ value represents the maximum heating capability for specific small-area, high-absorptivity scenarios; highly reflective materials can improve absorptivity through surface roughening, oxidation, or application of a dedicated absorption layer.
Core Advantages
Build a large-area flat-top thermal field using 4×1500 W multi-channel laser stitching. Four independent power compensation channels enable fast, uniform, closed-loop controlled planar thermal loading.
4×1500 W Multi-Path Laser Heat Source
Maximum total laser output power: 6 kW. Channels can operate synchronously or be adjusted independently to enhance uniformity compensation across large thermal fields.
Large-area laser thermal loading
Create a planar effective heating area ranging from 100×100 mm to 300×300 mm using beam shaping and multi-spot combination.
Flat-top beam profile and thermal field uniformity
Beam homogenization and top-hat shaping convert a single-beam laser into a uniform square/rectangular spot, which is then combined across four channels with overlap compensation to create a planar thermal field.
Fast thermal response
Laser output power can be rapidly adjusted, making it ideal for rapid heating, short-duration high-temperature exposure, thermal cycling, and dynamic thermal loading tests.
Four-channel independent power control
Independently adjust power for specific channels in low-temperature zones at the center, edges, or locally to actively compensate the thermal field.
Non-contact high-temperature thermal loading
Non-contact laser head; reserves space for tensile fixtures, extensometers, thermal cameras, and other test sensors.
Electric height adjustment and working distance control
The electric lifting platform facilitates quick changeovers for workpieces of varying heights and dimensions, while optimizing spot size, seam alignment, and energy distribution.
Liquid cooling thermal management
The closed-loop water cooling system manages heat for the laser, optical head, and other critical temperature-sensitive components, enhancing stability during continuous high-power operation.

- ⚠The sample, heating head tip, and surrounding structures may be hot. Install heat guards and allow adequate cooldown time after power-off.
- ⚠Keep the air-cooled channel clear. Do not operate continuously if cooling is abnormal, the reflector surface is contaminated, or electrical connections are loose.
- ⚠Infrared temperature readings are affected by emissivity, angle, and spot size coverage. For highly reflective metals, combine with thermocouples or use a calibrated measurement solution.
- ⚠For adhesives, coatings, and materials that may emit volatiles, evaluate ventilation, smoke extraction, and fire safety conditions.
