KHQ-S350 Quartz Lamp Surface Heating Module

Product Overview
The KHQ-S350 Quartz Lamp Face Heating Module is a modular short-wave infrared heat source designed for material testing, localized heat treatment, composite processing, and research thermal loading. Featuring high-power quartz halogen lamps and a high-reflectivity structure, the module directs radiant energy to target areas, enabling fast, non-contact, and adjustable power surface heating. Each module covers an approximate nominal working area of 330×70 mm. It can operate independently for narrow strip preheating or be arranged in parallel arrays to create wider, larger heated zones. For large-area temperature fields, multi-zone independent power control combined with infrared thermometry or thermal imaging feedback allows for power compensation across center, edge, and seam regions. Unlike furnace-based heating, short-wave infrared radiation targets the sample surface directly, minimizing wasted thermal input to surrounding air, fixtures, and non-target areas. This makes it ideal for applications requiring rapid start-stop cycles, localized heating, and integration with other test equipment.
Product Positioning
Modular Short-Wave Infrared Heat Source
Single module: strip heater with a heating surface of approximately 330×70 mm. Can be used independently or arrayed to expand the heating area.
High-Reflectivity Directional Radiation
The high-reflectivity structure redirects divergent radiation back to the working surface, improving effective radiation utilization and reducing heat accumulation at the rear.
Product Type
How it works
When current passes through the tungsten filament inside a quartz halogen lamp, it rapidly heats up and emits continuous radiation dominated by near-infrared (NIR) and short-wave infrared (SWIR). A high-reflection structure redirects radiation that would otherwise scatter away from the target area, concentrating more energy on the work zone. As the sample surface absorbs this infrared radiation, light energy is converted into heat, enabling rapid temperature rise.
The module functions as a "thermal field building block" with versatile configurations: a single module provides rapid localized heating for narrow, elongated areas; multiple modules arranged side-by-side expand the heating width; modules combined along the length direction extend the continuous heating range; top/bottom or dual-sided opposing setups enable synchronized radiant heating on both surfaces; and multi-zone independent control allows power compensation to address thermal loss differences at the center, edges, or specific local areas.
Important Notice:Temperature, heating rate, temperature control fluctuation, and uniformity are typical operating condition metrics. Final performance depends on sample material, thickness, surface condition, absorptivity, working distance, mounting method, temperature measurement system, and cooling conditions; acceptance shall be based on agreed-upon operating conditions. After multi-module拼接 for large-area thermal fields, zone compensation and thermal field verification must be performed again.
Core Advantages
Modular short-wave infrared heat source built with high-power quartz halogen lamps and high-reflectivity structures. Features rapid start/stop, non-contact heating, array拼接 capability, and multi-zone independent compensation.
Fast thermal response
Quartz halogen lamps have low thermal inertia, enabling rapid initiation and termination of infrared output. Ideal for quick preheating, short-duration thermal loading, dynamic power adjustment, and thermal cycling tests.
Modular planar heat source
Single module is approximately 330×70 mm. It can be used independently or expanded into a larger effective heating area via multi-module arrays, facilitating replacement, maintenance, scaling, and reconfiguration.
Non-contact local heating
Non-contact between module and specimen reduces contamination, indentation, and additional mechanical loads. Dedicated space provided for test equipment such as thermocouples, thermal cameras, and extensometers.
High-Reflectivity Directional Radiation
The reflector redirects radiation diverging backward and sideways toward the working surface, improving directional radiation utilization efficiency and reducing ineffective heat accumulation at the equipment's rear.
Closed-loop temperature control
Configurable thermocouple, infrared spot thermometer, or thermal imager paired with a PID controller and SCR power control unit for real-time lamp power adjustment, enabling heating, holding, program control, and over-temperature protection.
Flexible cooling options
For low-to-mid power or intermittent duty cycles, air cooling is suitable; for high power or prolonged continuous operation, water cooling is recommended to manage heat in the reflector, lamp end, housing, and critical structural components.

Usage and Safety Instructions
- ⚠Strong visible and infrared radiation is emitted during operation. Do not look directly at the light source or focus area. Use appropriate eye and radiation protection equipment.
- ⚠The sample, heating head tip, and surrounding structures may be hot. Install heat guards and allow adequate cooldown time after power-off.
- ⚠Keep the air-cooled channel clear. Do not operate continuously if cooling is abnormal, the reflector surface is contaminated, or electrical connections are loose.
- ⚠Infrared temperature readings are affected by emissivity, angle, and spot size coverage. For highly reflective metals, combine with thermocouples or use a calibrated measurement solution.
- ⚠For adhesives, coatings, and materials that may emit volatiles, evaluate ventilation, smoke extraction, and fire safety conditions.
